Bulldog Cafe replica | ||
Los Angeles, CA | North Hollywood, CA | |
This Bulldog Cafe structure was located inside the Petersen Automotive Museum. It was built in 1994 as a recreation of a building that was built around 1928. The original building was demolished in 1955. I don't know if the original dog's pipe emitted steam but the replica built for the museum did. In 2014, the museum announced that it was remodeling and would be demolishing the Bulldog. It was saved and moved to the back patio are of the Idle Hour Cafe in North Hollywood.
There was also another recreation of original Bulldog Cafe building at Disney's Epcot Center in Florida. There was also a similar looking Pup Cafe in Venice, CA. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. |
Bulldog [gone] Woodstock, ON |

I believe this Bulldog was previously located in New Hamburg, ON. When these photos were taken in 2007, they were part of Windmill Hill which is Cliff and Frances Bruce's collection of windmills, whirligigs, signs, and other statues. By 2015, all the statues were gone. |
Uga Athens, GA |
||
There are numerous Bulldogs around Athens which is the home to the University of Georgia's Bulldogs football team. The team also has a live mascot at its games. This statue of Uga stands in front of Memorial Hall. It represents Mike who was the university's mascot from 1951-1955. Gene Owens created the sculpture in 1958. I believe there are two bronze Bulldog statues inside the stadium. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. [map] |

This four-foot-tall, fiberglass Bulldog was installed in front of a Georgia Power office by 2012. He is dressed in a repairman's outfit. The statue was part of the "We Let the Dawgs Out" public art project from 2003-2010. About three dozen of these statues were installed around town. They were each painted to relate to the businesses that they stood in front of. For more, see this website. [map] |

This Bulldog in Fresno is located at the Big Fresno Fair. It represents the mascot for the Fresno State Bulldogs.
This Bulldog in Winslow was installed at Winslow High School around 2007. It is about six feet tall. The Bulldog is the mascot of the school's sports teams. I believe this statue was produced by FAST Fiberglass. For more, see this website.
