American Legion Memorial Building Garden City, KS |
There are conflicting dates for the American Legion Memorial Building. It may have been built in 1920 or 1932. I suspect it's the latter date. Sometime between 2012 and 2019, a portico was added in front of the entrance and the terra cotta American Legion letters above it were removed. Since around 2019, the building has housed the Casa Mariachi restaurant. For more, see this website. [map] |

The Telephone Building was built in 1931 for United Telephone. In the late 1960s, it became part of the Bell system. [map] |
Municipal Building Great Bend, KS |

The concrete Municipal Building was built from 1937-1938 to house an auditorium, City Hall, the police and fire departments, a jail, and offices. [map] |
