Redwood Diner East Syracuse, NY |
The New York Central Diner is a 1940 Silk City. It was previously located in Schodack, NY where it was known as the Countryside Diner and the 9&20 Diner. When this photo was taken in 2010, it was being placed on a foundation where it was to be restored. There were plans to display it at the Canal Street Station Village Museum. However, in 2019, the diner was still up on blocks. By 2021, it was gone. I'm told that the diner was sold and moved to Kingston, NY. For more, see this website.
The Redwood Diner is a Ward & Dickinson from around 1930. [map] |

Rhinebeck Diner Fishkill, NY |
|
The Rhinebeck Diner opened in 1938 in Rhinebeck, NY. The green paint on the postcard shown on the upper left was an artist's creative license. I have seen the same card printed with blue paint. I'm not sure when the diner closed and have heard that it was moved to Kingston, NY at one point. It was sitting in Fishkill for many years when these photos were taken. There were two other neglected diners beside it shown in the bottom row above. They were attached to the Rhinebeck Diner and used for additional seating. I don't know if any of these diners are still there now. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map] |
