Holiday Hill Motor Inn ice cream stand Dennis Port, MA |
|
The Holiday Hill Motor Inn and ice cream stand were built in the early 1960s. At that time, the ice cream stand was a traditional drive-in with car hops and fast food fare. [map] |
Foote's Ice Cream Salisbury, MA |
Foote's Ice Cream had been around since 1946. This building appears to be from the 1960s and looks identical to the one at the Holiday Hill Motor Inn (see above). The owner at Foote's believes that the design of their stand was copied from Holiday Hill. The butterfly roof at this stand has high-hat lighting underneath. Foote's served typical drive-in fare in addition to ice cream. It closed around 2018. In 2023, there were plans to develop the property as housing. [map] |
Star Drive-in East Taunton, MA |
|
The Star Drive-in was repainted from red to black in 2009. The building is probably from the 1960s. The ice cream sign was mounted on a pole near the road. That sign was gone by 2017. The sign on the building now has backlit plastic letters. For more, see this website. [map] |
