Dari-B Drive In
Excelsior Springs, MO
The Dari-B Drive-In opened in 1954 as the Dari-O Drive-in. At some point, the name was changed and the sign's "O" was replaced with a "B." [map]

McKay's Dari-Creme
Jasper, MO
McKay's Dari-Creme looks like it's been here since at least the 1950s. [map]

Central Dairy
Jefferson City, MO
The Central Dairy was founded in 1920 in Columbia, MO where it was a processing and bottling company. This Jefferson City ice cream parlor opened in 1933. [map]

Stacks Drive-in [gone]
Kansas City, MO
Stacks Drive-in opened here in 1962. There was a full menu but I'm including it here because of the cute rooftop ice cream sign. This location was demolished in 2011. I don't know what happened to the rooftop sign. Stacks reopened in Independence, MO but that location is also closed now.

Pineapple Whip
S. Glenstone Ave.
Springfield, MO
W. Battlefield Rd.
Springfield, MO
S. Campbell Ave.
Springfield, MO
Pineapple Whip was established in 1974 at a booth at the Ozark Empire Fair. That booth has since been demolished but the company still takes one of their trailers there every year. These moving "Lulu" hula girl signs are installed on top of the company's four trailer stands in Springfield. The stands are only open in summer. This photo of the Glenstone trailer's sign was taken in 2010 before the signs were all updated like the other ones shown here. The new design was being used by 2013. The Battlefield trailer was the first one built and is still in use. [S Campbell Ave. map]

There is another trailer stand in Robbinsville, NC. Another one in Junction City, KS doesn't seem to have a hula girl. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, and 3.
