Kline's Dairy Bar
Harrisonburg, VA
Kline's Dairy Bar first opened in 1943 and moved here in 1963. Kline's features frozen custard made in their original Electro-Freeze machine. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]

former Royal Dairy
Front Royal, VA
The Royal Dairy opened in 1947 and closed in 2006. These photos are from 2003. Around 2007, the interior was gutted for the Royal Garden, a Chinese restaurant. By 2009, the building was housing the YamaFuji Japanese Restaurant. [map]

Goolrick's Pharmacy
Fredericksburg, VA
Goolrick's Pharmacy opened in 1863. It moved to this location in the late 1890s. Goolrick's claimed to have the oldest, continuously operating soda fountain in the country which was installed in 1912. It was still a full-service pharmacy with a lunch counter with blue stools. It closed in 2022. Restoration of the building began in 2023 and there still plans to reopen the space as Goolrick's soda fountain. For more, see this website. [map]
