Fairyland Tampa, FL | ||
Fairyland was built in 1957 to complement the Lowry Park Zoo. It was demolished in 1996. The statues were in rough shape after being vandalized but saved and put in city storage. They were discovered in 2016. In 2017, the figures were auctioned off. Most of them, about 11 of the fairyland scenes, were purchased by the owner of Ulele Restaurant for nearly $30,000. He had the statues restored. Later that year, the statues were installed on the restaurant's property. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map] |
