This former Cities Service station was built in the early 1930s as a Loreco station. Just a few years later, the branding was changed to Cities Service. This station had been abandoned for years when the first photo above was taken. By 2009, the building had been fixed up and housed a car wash and car stereo business. It last housed Prime Audio/Video. The building is now boarded up and the property is surrounded by chain link fencing. The building will soon be demolished for a medical complex. This former station in the top row might be from the 1920s. I don't know if there was a canopy there originally. The building in the second row is modern, built to look somewhat like a Pure Oil station. It has housed the Pure Taqueria since 2005. The smaller building is used for storage. [map] |

The Fairyland Service Station was built in the 1930s or 1940s across the street from the Rock City tourist attraction. The building has housed a Starbucks since 2007. For more, see this website. [map] |
