Brooklyn Service Center Brooklyn, IA |
|
The Brooklyn Service Center still has its original Standard Oil station Moderne lettering. The station was built in the 1930s and is still selling gas and offering repairs. The building features cream glazed brick and terra cotta details. I have seen a vintage photo of an identical station with the bay on the right and the words "Standard / Oil Products" and "Service" reversed. [map] |
former Standard Station Ogden, IA |
|
The former Standard Station was lasted occupied by the Ogden Veterinary Clinic. The building appears to be vacant now. [map] |
Sinclair station Missouri Valley, IA |
When this photo was taken in 2006, this Sinclair station was still pumping gas while also housing Staska Automotive. By 2012, the pumps and Sinclair sign were gone. Statska was still there. The building is probably from the 1940s. I don't know what brand of gas was sold here originally. [map] |
