| This former White Eagle station was built in 1928. Around 1943, it came to be known as Gilday's Station. Ed Gilday used the property to park and fuel his trucks. The building sat abandoned for many years until 1998 when the Osage City Historical Preservation Society restored it. The gas pump is a modern reproduction and the eagle statue appears be a replica. I believe the eagle statues were cast iron and this one appears to be concrete. For more, see this website. [map] |
