former station Forsyth, MT |
|
The canopy of this former station has been walled up. It was built around 1931 and known as the Wolke & Faust Service Station. It was a Texaco in the 1940s and may have sold that brand originally. [map] |
former station Wilsall, MT |
former station Harlowton, MT |
This former station in Wilsall was built by the 1930s. It was previously located elsewhere in town and then moved to its current location around 2009. The building now houses the Crazy Little Museum. It has been decorated as a Conoco but the original brand is unknown. [map]
This former station in Harlowton houses Wojtowick Auto Repair. The building was constructed in 1918. The canopy must have been added later, possibly in the 1940s. [map] |
former station Glendive, MT |
|
This former station is dressed up as "Trulock's Texaco" but I don't know if it ever operated as that. It may have been built in the 1930s. The buildings behind it and to the left of it appear to have been used as motor court lodging. [map] |
former Sinclair station Eureka, MT |
This former Sinclair station may have been built in 1963. The building must have housed a Union 76 station at some point. It appears to house Wade's Service now. [map] |
former station Havre, MT |
This former station was built in 1939 by the Northwest Refining Company of Cut Bank, MT and leased to Danfield Heltne. It was a Grizzly Oil station originally and then later sold Oval E, Carter, Humble, and Enco. The station closed in 2006. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It began housing Old Station Brewing in 2018. Since 2021, the building has housed Parker's BBQ Pit. [map] |
former McGaffick Husky station Helena, MT |
|
The McGaffick Husky station was built from 1950-1951. This clock was installed then. The building now houses Montana Muffler & Radiator. For more, see this website. [map] |
former station? Conrad, MT |
This building might have housed a former station. I believe it was built in 1947. It housed Conrad Tire since at least 1995. It's possible that that was the original occupant or the building housed another tire dealership before that. The building was vacant in 2022. [map] |
former Texaco station Conrad, MT |
former Texaco station Glendive, MT |
This former Texaco station in Conrad previously housed a Conrad Tire Co. The building was vacant when this photo was taken in 2022. [map]
This former Texaco station in Glendive has an unusual layout. Normally, the bay building is built right next to the office. This one is set apart from and perpendicular to the office. The office was apparently used as the Main Motel office. The motel is located behind the station and is now used for apartments. [map] |
former station Bozeman, MT |
former station Livingston, MT |
This former station in Bozeman was built in 1941. It housed Fred's Mesquite Diner in the 1990s. After that, the Garage Soup Shack & Mesquite Grill occupied the building for many years. It closed around 2019. An addition was built onto the side of the building, leaving only the original rounded corner exposed. The new building houses the SHINE Beer Sanctuary & Bottle Shop. The former station now houses the LaPa Grill & Soup Shack. For more, see this website. [map]
This former station in Livingston housed the Odd Squad BBQ Smokehouse from 2020-2021. Before that, it housed an insurance company. [map] |
former station Deer Lodge, MT |
This former station housed an Exxon station in 1980. The building appears to be vacant now. [map] |
former station Anaconda, MT |
|
This former station was built in 1945. The building has housed Giddy Up Mercantile since at least 2012. [map] |
former Sinclair station White Sulphur Springs, MT |
|
This former Sinclair station was still operating in 2009. This Phillips 66 design was used by Sinclair in Western states. I believe the building is vacant now. [map] |
former Sinclair station Browning, MT |
This former Sinclair station has been vacant since at least 2008. [map] |
