Rasmus Petersen collected rocks from an 85-mile radius around his home in Redmond, OR. The rocks included agates, obsidian, petrified wood, malachite and jasper. He began building with them in 1935 and continued until his death in 1952. Petersen mortared the rocks together to create miniature buildings, monuments, lagoons, and bridges. The place is now a tourist attraction managed by his family. There are a number of peacocks which roam the property. For more, see this website. |
