(hit "refresh" to get the most recent version of this page; click on photos for larger images)
Glenn Stark was a self-taught artist. Stark began producing these sculptures in the 1930s. These wood and concrete statues were installed on the front lawn of his house in Kingman, KS. He passed away in 2014. In 2021, many of these statues were moved into storage by the city. They were all gone by 2023. Many of the statues were installed in Glenn Stark Park next to the train depot downtown. In 2022, the park was being renovated and the statues were moved into storage. They are in bad shape and the city doesn't know if they will be reinstalled. |
