The Deauville Hotel, later the Deauville Beach Resort, was designed by Melvin Grossman and built in 1957. The hotel closed in 2017 after a fire. It was further damaged later that year during Hurricane Irma. These photos are from 2020 and 2021. The hotel was demolished in 2022. For more, see this website. |

The Lido Spa Hotel was designed by Norman Giller as the Monterrey Motel and built in 1953. In 1960, this building was constructed and it became the Lido Spa Hotel. It is believed that it was designed by A. Herbert Mathes. The hotel is now known as The Standard. Note the up-side-down letters on the canopy in the second photo above. [map] |
