St. Paul's Monastery was designed by Val Michelson and completed in 1965. In 2009, the monastery moved to a new church. This property is now occupied by the Harriet Tubman Center East, a domestic violence shelter. [map]

The Lutheran Church of the Reformation was built in 1958 and updated in 1968. When these photos were taken in 2008, the church was converting its mowed lawn for eco-friendly prairie grass and wildflowers. In 2016, the building was vacant. In 2019, the gray panels had been painted a peachy orange. The building now houses the Wat Promwachirayan Buddhist Temple. [map]

Christ Chapel

The Christ Chapel is located at Gustavus Adolphus College. The church was dedicated in 1962. In 1998, a tornado struck the campus and snapped the church's spire. It was rebuilt. For more, see this website.
