This Northern National Life Insurance building was designed by Herman Leonhard and built in 1965. It is also known as the Manhattan Building. The building now houses Alliance Real Estate and other offices. [map] |

Annunciation Priory of the Sisters of St. Benedict Bismarck, ND |

The Annunciation Priory of the Sisters of St. Benedict was designed by Marcel Breuer with Hamilton P. Smith and Traynor and Hermanson. The monastery's classrooms and dorm were built from 1958-1959. The 100-foot-tall bell banner was built in 1962. The chapel (bottom row above) was dedicated in 1963. The buildings are now associated with the adjacent University of Mary.
