Thunderbird Motel Show Low, AZ |
7-Eleven [gone] Tempe, AZ |
Jerry's Drive-in Liquors Tempe, AZ |
|
The Thunderbird Motel was built in 1955 and had a smaller and shorter sign originally. This sign appears to be from the 1960s. For more, see this website. [map]
These trapezoid shaped 7-Eleven signs are very rare now. There are several left in California. However, the slanted letters on this sign and a few in California make them even older and rarer. This original logo was used until 1969. Most of the trapezoid 7-Eleven signs in California have straight type. I'm told that this sign at the Tempe location was replaced in 2022 with a modern sign. [map] Jerry's Drive-in Liquors opened in 1967 and this sign appears to be from then. For more, see this website. [map] |
Larian Motel Tombstone, AZ |
Frontier Motel & Cafe Truxton, AZ |

The shopping center opened around 2006 and the sign was adapted then. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map] |
