The J&W Grill opened in 1957 and this sign appears to be from then. [map]
The Men's Club snooker parlor opened around 1960 and this sign was from then. The sign was originally animated with the snooker player's right arm and cue lit in sequence. This photo is from 2011. The sign was still there in 2013. By 2016, the building and sign were gone. I'm told that the sign was saved and is now in storage. The Kings Inn sign appeared to be from the 1960s. By 2015, the motel had become a Regency Inn and the sign was gone. This Richardson Root Beer privilege sign is installed in front of Paw Paw's Hamburgers. It is probably from the 1960s. I believe this is the only vacuum form plastic Richardson sign still on public display. For more Richardson signs and buildings, see this page. [map] |
