Solitro's Bakery

The Solitro's Bakery sign is probably from the late 1950s or early 1960s. [map]

Christiansen's Dairy was established in the 1920s. The business closed in 2019 and everything was put up for sale. This sign was removed. I assume that it's in someone's private collection now.

Ardente Supply Company
Providence, RI		 Scialo Bros. Bakery
Providence, RI
The Ardente Supply Company has been selling plumbing and heating supplies here since 1946. This sign might be from the 1950s or later. [map]

The Scialo Bros. Bakery opened here in the Federal Hill section of Providence in 1916. The signage/façade appear to have been redone in the 1930s or 1940s. The place is just as beautiful on the inside. The pastries and bread are all produced here in brick ovens from the 1920s. [map]

Greylawn Farms [gone?]
Providence, RI
At some point, Greylawn Farms became Greylawn Foods, a wholesale distributor of refrigerated foods. The company's headquarters is now in Cranston, RI and this sign has been abandoned. I think this sign and the building on which it was installed might be gone now. [map]

Brite-Nu Cleaners [gone]

Brite-Nu Cleaners is gone now and so are these signs. These photos are from 2005. [photos thanks DinerFan]

Bob's One Stop Cleaning Center had at least three locations. Rhode Island cleaners were commonly known as "cleansers". There are still many businesses that still use the word in their names. This photo is from 2007. Sometime between 2009 and 2012, this location closed and the signs were removed.

There is another Bob's One Stop Cleaning Center with similar rooftop signs in Woonsocket which was still open in 2017.
