The Times Theatre opened as the Char-Bell Theater in 1924. It was renamed the Times Theatre in 1942. The theatre was twinned in 1979. This photo is from 2010. The theatre closed in 2014. In 2023, the sign was restored and the theatre reopened. For more, see this website. [map] |

The Ritz Theatre opened in 1912 as the New Rockville Opera House. It featured live performances and silent films. In 1929, the Opera House began showing movies. In 1937, the interior was remodeled in the Art Moderne style and the name was changed to the Ritz. Today's marquee was added in the late 1940s. The theatre closed in 1969. The Scott Theatre was built in 1947. In 2002, it was converted into a country music venue known as the Scottsburg Jamboree. The screen was removed and a stage added. It is now known as the Ross Country Jamboree. By 2021, there was a new marquee. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map] |

The State Theatre opened as the Blackstone Theatre in 1921. In more recent years, it was converted into a nightclub. It was then later used as a church. When these photos were taken in 2009, the building was up for sale again. For more, see this website. [map] |

The Pickwick Theatre was built in 1934. It was rebuilt in 1947 after a fire. The stone facade was added in the 1970s. For more, see this website. [map] |

The Indiana Theatre was designed by John Eberson and opened in 1922. The ornate theatre was restored inside and out. The screen, which can be raised for live performances, is the second largest in the state of Indiana. In 2024, the sign was removed. It will be replaced with an LED version. There are plans to eventually display the old sign at the Vigo County History Center. For more, see this website. [map]

Fort Sackville Theatre Vincennes, IN |

The Fort Sackville Theatre was built around 1940. The original exterior had a neon marquee with gold and green panels. The panels were later painted over with white and blue paint. By 2023, the building was painted light blue with black details. By the early 2000s, the building was adapted for a bowling alley. The building now houses a restaurant and thrift store. The New Moon Theatre opened in 1939. By 1950, it was known as the Moon Theatre. In 1983, it became Showplace 3 before closing in 2003. The building housed a church after that. In 2020, it began housing the Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom. For more, see this website. [map] |

The Pantheon Theatre was built in 1921. It closed in 1961 and the interior was gutted. In 2006, restoration of the building began. It now houses a co-working space for entrepreneurs and businesses. For more, see this website. [map] |
