Alturas, CA
The Boat House restaurant originally housed Peerless Cleaners. The building was designed by Harry L. Pierce and built in 1936. [map]

Modoc Union High School was built in 1939 with as a Public Works Administration project. It was designed by Masten & Hurd. [map]

Pierce Joint Union High School
Arbuckle, CA
Pierce Joint Union High School was designed by W.E. Coffman and built in 1937. [map]

Arcadia News Journal Building
Arcadia, CA
The Arcadia News Journal Building was built around 1932. The relief details were sculptured by J. J. Mora. [map]

City Hall & Fire House
Auburn, CA
This City Hall & Fire House building was designed by George Clinton Sellon. It was built in 1935 as a WPA project. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It now houses the Visitors Bureau and Chamber of Commerce. The Restroom building in the third photo was built in 2016 in an Art Deco style. [map]

The Standard School Auditorium was built in 1937. [map]

Sill Building
Bakersfield, CA
The Sill Building was designed by Ernest J. Kump, Jr. and built from 1939-1940. It originally housed the Kimball and Stone Drug Store on the first floor. There was a huge Coca-Cola and Weather Bird sign on the roof. For more, see this website. [map]

The Central Fire Station was designed by Charles Biggar and built in 1939. [map]

Auditorium
Bakersfield, CA
The Auditorium was originally part of Washington Middle School. I don't know when it was built. It appears to be from the 1940s. The building now houses the Bakersfield City School District offices. For more, see this website. [map]
