The Acres of Books building was built in 1924 as a market. The building was updated in the Streamline Moderne style in 1936 after earthquake damage. At that time, the building was used as a used car showroom. Acres of Books was here from 1959-2008. The building remained vacant after that. In 2020, the building was demolished but the facade was preserved. [map] |
