This former Woolworth in Danville was built in 1937. Woolworth's closed in 1992. The building was vacant in 2010 when this photo was taken. It was still vacant in 2022. [map]
This former Woolworth in Roanoke has been vacant since at least 2008. This photo was taken in 2010. There were still traces of the "Campbell Mart" letters on the building at that point. Woolworth left the building in 1993. By 2012, the building had been renovated for offices and lofts. The lettering was changed to read "The Woolworth." For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map] |
