The Bohemian Cafe opened in 1924 as the Louis Macala Cafe. It was renamed the Bohemian Cafe in 1935. The restaurant closed in 2016. By 2018, the building was still vacant and the signs on the building were gone. The sign at the parking lot (third photo above) across the street was restored by the Omaha Neon Sign Company, funded by the local Dundee Bank, and reinstalled. The text panel that was part of the pole sign over the entrance is now displayed inside the Infusion Little Bohemia Beer Hall which now occupies the space. The location of the larger sign letters and plastic panels is not known. For more, see this website. [map]

Gorat's Steak House Omaha, NE |

|
Gorat's Steak House opened in 1944. There was a different neon sign there then and the restaurant building was house-like. It must have been rebuilt since this building looks to be from the late 1950s or 1960s. This sign is probably from then as well. For more, see this website. [map]
