Mason's Texaco station Weir, KS |

Although Mason's Texaco station is decorated with Texaco signs, I don't know if it was built originally as such. It may have been built as a White Eagle station. Does anyone know when this station was restored or more about it? [map] |

This former station is described in a local visitors' guide as a 1935 Shell station. It stopped selling gas in 1982. It appears to have been a White Eagle station originally. These photos are from 2010. In 2024, the building was restored by the Garage Automotive Museum. [map] |

former Kanotex station Galena, KS 2010: |

2023: | |
This former Kanotex station was built in the 1920s. It had been abandoned for many years. In 2007, the station was restored to its 1940s appearance by four women from Galena. They named their business "Four Women on the Route" and used the gas station as a restaurant and Route 66 gift shop. In 2013, the business was renamed "Cars on the Route" and the sign on the building was repainted. I don't know if the pumps are replicas but I'm sure that the globes are. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map] |
