Union Gulf Service Somerville, MA |
This former station in Cambridge might have been a Cities Service station originally. The building housed Koko's Garage when this photo was taken in 2009. By 2014, the business was known as Vahe's Garage. [map]
The Union Gulf Service is located at Union Square. This station operated as a Gulf station and repair shop until it closed in 2018. The signs have been removed. It now operates as a Global gas station and Union Auto Service. [map] |

former station Roslindale, MA |
operating station Brockton, MA |
This former station in Roslindale was probably an Amoco station originally. The building now houses Jose's Auto Repair. [map]
This operating station in Brockton was probably an Esso station originally. The design appears to be the same as one in Bangor, ME. [map] |
former Esso station West Springfield, MA |
This former Esso station now houses Red's Auto Repair & Towing. The vintage Grand Opening photo which hangs in the office was dated 1953. However, an advertisement from 1950 mentions the "new Riverdale Esso station" at this location and according to property records, the station was built in 1946. The 10-foot-wide clock originally had neon and was supposedly installed in 1947. In 1958, the station became Red's Exxon. These photos are from 2011. In 2013, there was a devastating fire in the building. The painted-over porcelain enamel panels were removed and replaced with new siding at that time. The clock was not damaged and is still operating. [map] |
