This John Muir sculpture is about 10 feet tall. It was carved with a chainsaw from a redwood tree in 1989 by R.L. Blair. It was originally installed near Visalia, CA. It has been located here since at least 2016. [map]
The bronze Soldier with Dog sculpture was created by Scott Stearman and is titled "Trust In Me, My Friend". The soldier continuously pours water into his helmet which serves as a dog drinking fountain. The sculpture was installed in 2014 by the Clovis Veterans Memorial District next to the Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center. [map] |

The California 9/11 Memorial bronze sculptures were created by John Parsons and installed in 2019 and 2021. The sculptures include New York City firefighters, a Marine, a New York City police officer, and a wounded warrior with his dog. For more, see this website. [map] |

Kenneth Fox began building this concrete sculpture group in the early 1960s. They are installed in front of his dental office. The controversy about the statues' nudity seems to have waned. The Amazon Archer is the largest, at 42 feet tall. There is also an Amazon with the spear and a male figure struggling to release himself from chains. For more, see this website. [map] |

This statue entitled Chinese Coolie was also created by Ken Fox. It is a tribute to the Chinese laborers that contributed to the construction of the transcontinental railroad through the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The concrete and steel statue is 22 feet tall and 33 feet long. It was created in 1972 and installed at Fox's dental practice. It was moved to its present location at the former train station in 1989. For more, see this website. [map] |

This Farmer was created by Ken Fox in 1977 for the city's Bicentennial. It is entitled "Salute to the Farmer". For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]
This statue of Claude Chana was installed in 1975. Chana is credited with the discovery of gold in 1848 which led to the establishment of Auburn. The concrete statue was also created by Ken Fox. [map] Ken Fox also created this statue in Auburn, CA. |
Desert Christ Park Yucca Valley, CA |

Desert Christ Park features more than 40 statues depicting scenes from Christ's life. The statues were created by Frank Antone Martin from steel-reinforced concrete. The park was dedicated in 1951. I believe the Rock Chapel was built in 1954. It was designed by Frank Garske and built by him and Ed Garver. Many of the statues were damaged by an earthquake in 1992.
