Taster San Francisco, CA |

The nine-foot-tall, bronze Taster sculpture was created by Spero Anargyros and installed in 1992 inside the Hills Brothers Coffee Factory building courtyard. The building now houses other offices but the sculpture remains. The figure was first developed in 1898 and appeared on the company's coffee cans in 1900. [map] |

The Amitabah Buddha statue in Mecca was installed at the Tam Nguyen Temple III in 2017. The statue is at least 20 feet tall. [map]
The Golden Buddha statue in Amboy was installed around 2021. According to one account, it was discovered in the 1990s during a construction project, buried in the deep sand. The statue is now missing his right hand and is covered with stickers. [map] |

These statues and dozens of others are located at the 15-acre property of the Thien Vien Chan Nguyen Buddhist Meditation Temple. The Temple was built in 2011. [map] |

This nine-foot-tall marble sculpture of Pope John Paul II was created in Italy by Giuliano Ottaviani, shipped to Long Beach, CA, and installed at the City of Hope's Pioneer Park in 2009. [map] |

Jack Murphy was a sports editor for the San Diego Union newspaper. He was instrumental in bringing the Chargers from Los Angeles to San Diego in 1961. He was also a key player in the construction of the San Diego Stadium (now SDCCU Stadium) which is visible behind him. The football stadium was built in 1967. It was known as Jack Murphy Stadium from 1981-1997. Murphy's Labrador Retriever, "Abe," was also featured in many of his news columns. This 13-foot-tall bronze statue was installed in 2003. [map]
Barrel Man was created by Victor Trentadue. In 2016, a similar sculpture at this location held just one barrel. This sculpture has been there since around 2017. There is another similar sculpture nearby that holds a barrel and a bottle. [map] This 8-foot-tall statue of Poseidon is installed in front of Poseidon Center. Entitled "Reveal," it was created by Jameel Haiat in 2010. [map] |

Both of these sculptures were created by Patrick Amiot.
The Luther Burbank sculpture was installed in 2016. Burbank was a botanist who had an experimental plant farm in Sebastopol named the Gold Ridge Farm. This sculpture is installed on the site. For more, see this website. [map] The Firefighter sculpture was created by Amiot in 2017. It was installed in front of the Graton Fire Department in 2021. [map] |

The bronze Guardians Memorial sculpture which depicts a police officer and a firefighter was created by Shiela Cavalluzzi and installed in 1998 in front of the Burbank Police & Fire Headquarters. [map] |
Grieving Officer Memorial and Fallen Firefighter Memorial Downey, CA |

The bronze Grieving Officer Memorial was produced by Brodin Studios of Litchfield, MN and installed at the Downey Civic Center in 2011. It was commissioned after the dealth of Officer Wayne Presley who was killed by a drunk driver. Brodin Studios has produced many other of these "Call to Duty" sculptures which are installed elsewhere around the country. The bronze Fallen Firefighter Memorial was also produced by Brodin Studios and installed in 2020 at the Downey Civic Center. [map] |
