| The Regency Inn was designed by Richard DeGette and built in 1969. The circular penthouse suite on top of the tower was one of Elvis Presley's favorite places to stay. The Piccadilly Rotunda, a gold geodesic dome roof structure, was used as an exhibit hall. In 2005, that building was destroyed by a fire during renovations for the Regency Student Housing Community. The base of this smaller white structure is reminiscent of the former dome. For more, see this website. [map] |
