National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows

The National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows was built from 1958-1960. The three arms that create the modernist steeple represent the letter "M" for Mary. former Good Shepherd Lutheran Church
Des Plaines, IL
The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church was designed by William M. Cooley and built from 1959-1960. In 2021, the church sold the property to the Des Plaines Park District. The church building was adapted for The Foxtail on the Lake restaurant which opened in 2023. The original lights and stained glass were kept. [map]
