dome home Northwood, OH |
Logan Roundhouse [gone] Logan, OH |
This dome home is the smallest geodesic dome structure that I have seen. Some other examples can be found in Illinois, Michigan, Nevada, and Texas. [map]
The Logan Roundhouse was also known as Stewart's Folly. Construction on this spherical, concrete house was begun in 1971 but it was never completed. It was to be a prototype for tornado-resistant houses. It remained vacant and was well hidden behind trees. In 2016, there was a fire and the building was demolished. For more, see this website. |
Flintstone House Concord, OH |
The Flintstone House was built in 1970. It was designed and built by Wayne Trapp as the "Chant du Cygne". The house is made of concrete and surrounded by normal looking homes. For more, see this website. [map] |
