Sherburne's Jewelers [gone] Stillwater, MN |
Sherburne's Jewelers opened in 1975. Ths sign, which appears to be from the 1950s, must have been adapted from a previous business. In 2013, the business became Johnson Jewelers but the sign remained unchanged. In 2021, the sign was removed and put in storage at Skyline Neon in Minneapolis. For more, see this website. |

Wright's Jewelry Co. has been closed since at least 2008. The neon sign was removed sometime between 2018 and 2023. The clock was surrounded by a neon ring. The painted sign is still there. For more, see this website. [map] |

This Yellow Cab Co. location was long-gone but this sign remained for many years. It was gone by 2018. I believe these signs were mass-produced but I don't know of any others like this that are left. |
Strahm Automation and Mailing Services Kansas City, MO |
|
The Strahm Automation and Mailing Services sign was probably built in the 1950s. It originally advertised for the Smith-Grieves Co., a printing and mailing company. Around 1998, Strahm bought Smith-Grieves and reworked the sign. It was restored in 2010. Last year, Strahm was sold to Lineage Mailing Services but the sign remains the same and is still lit at night. [night photo thanks Lee Ann Buehler] [map] |
Adler Frames St. Louis, MO |
Southern Funeral Home [gone] St. Louis, MO |
Buescher Memorial Home Jefferson City, MO |
In 2006, the Adler Frames building was converted into lofts and a restaurant. This sign remains. The 1918 building was originally used for printing. The sign is probably from the 1950s. For more, see this website. [map]
The Southern Funeral Home was established in 1908. The company moved to this location in 1929. This sign is probably from then. In 2011, the building was put up for sale. The sign disappeared in 2013. I'm told that it was removed illegally by a sign collector. The Buescher Memorial Home operated from 1939-2009. The building remains vacant and boarded up. This sign is probably from the 1940s. It has been sitting on the ground since at least 2007. It was probably a pole sign originally. The neon text is protected with a hinged glass panel which made the neon accessible for repairs. The clock's hands and glass cover are missing now. For more, see this website. [map] |

This Farmers State Bank sign might have been located elsewhere. It stands next to a drive-up ATM location now. By 2022, the neon sign panel had been replaced with a plastic panel for another bank. The clock remains. [map] |
