The Paul Bunyan Pak-Out was built around 1954 as Louie's Inn & Out. This sign was installed then. It is about 20 feet tall. The restaurant was rebuilt in the 1990s. The sign was repainted around 2011. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]

The Sun-Liner Motel was built in 1958 and was remodeled in 1965. This sign was originally installed on the roof. By 2023, the motel was remodeled for the Arcadia Hotel and this sign was gone. It is now in a private collection. For more, see this website.

The Evergreen Gables Motel was built in 1946. This sign appears to be from the 1950s. The units are now used for apartments and the sign is no longer lit. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]

This swirl sign was once part of the Paramount Theatre marquee which was built in 1929. The theatre closed in the late 1980s. In 1997, the building was restored to its original 1919 look when it was known as the Colonial Theatre. This swirl was moved to a corner location when the marquee was removed. Carstens' Bakery was established in 1968. This sign may be from then. [map]

Farrell's Auto Upholstery has been around since 1959. This sign may be from then or the 1960s. The business is gone but the sign remains. [map]

Stinker

This Sinclair gas station is paired with a Stinker convenience store. Farris Lind opened the first Stinker gas station in Twin Falls, ID in 1936. The name "Stinker" was derived from competitors who were angry about his low prices. The skunk mascot was named Fearless Farris. This sign appears to be modern. The skunk in the older signs had an animated tail like this one. For more, see this website. [map]

The Saving Center closed in 2008. In 2013, the building was being readied for demolition. By 2014, the building and rooftop sign were gone. The parking sign remains. For more, see this website.

This giant wine bottle and glass sign advertises for the Cold Springs Winery in Hammett, ID from a hillside next to I-84. It was installed sometime between 2009 and 2012. The bottle is about 30 feet tall. [map]

Tumbling Waters Motel

2014: 2022:
The Tumbling Waters Motel sign was probably built in the 1950s. It appears that the neon water was lit sequentially. The motel was demolished in 2020. The sign was gone by 2021. In 2022, the sign turned up on private property where it is visible from the road. [map]
