The buildings below are examples of Tastee-Freez's glazed, blue brick design. The buildings had red and white stripes in front and distinctive diamond shaped signs.

This former Tastee-Freez was supposedly built in the mid-1950s. However, I believe it is really from the 1960s. It now houses DB's Drive-in. The building's original plastic diamond pattern around the roof was gone by 2018. The blue glazed brick is still there. [map]

Twin Lakes, WI
This former Tastee-Freez in Knightstown was built in 1967. By the 1970s, it was known as Tastee Cream. I don't know when it became Frosty Boy K. Evidently, this stand was connected with the Pizza King and Frosty Boy chains. In 2024, the stand was destroyed by a fire. There are plans to rebuild it. This former Tastee-Freez in Twin Lakes was built in 1965. It later operated as the Straw Hat. This photo is from 2011. In 2012, the business became Tom's Straw Hat. The sign and building remain the same. [map]

This former Tastee-Freez operated as Boz Hot Dogs from the mid-1980s until it closed in 2013. By 2016, the building had been remodeled and was housing a drug store. The Boz Hot Dogs chain was founded in 1969. There is another old location in Hazel Crest, IL. [map]

This former Tastee-Freez operates as a Your Pizza Shop which is a chain with 11 locations in Ohio and three in Florida. By 2022, the blue, white, and red tile had all been covered up. [map]

This former Tastee-Freez in Hillsville had intact diamond signage when these photos were taken in 2007. By 2014, the Tastee-Freez diamonds had been covered up. The building now houses Slyders. [map]

This former Tastee-Freez in Graham now houses Jim's Hot Dogs. Some locals still call the place Jim's Tastee-Freez. Around 2022, the building's siding was painted blue. [map]

This former Tastee-Freez in Fuquay-Varina housed RJ's Place for many years before closing in 2022. In 2023, the building was remodeled for Pelican's Snoballs and the Tastee diamond signs were gone. [map]

This Tastee-Freez in Wickenburg appears to be new or remodeled. This sign with the Tee and Eff characters was probably a replacement panel. Those panels had been replaced by 2021 with signs reading "Tasty." [map]

This former Tastee-Freez in Hickory Hills featured two, identical neon signs in the window. I have never seen them before and don't know how old they are. In 2015, this location closed and was put up for sale. By 2016, the building was housing the Chill N Grill Spot. Some of the diamond-shaped signs on the building were still there. The Tastee-Freez window sign was still there. By 2018, the building was housing the Aladdin's House, Indian-American Grill. The building now houses The Burrito & Philly Steak Factory. All of the signs and Tastee-Freez facade elements are gone. [map]

This former Tastee-Freez in Tulsa has housed Hero's Subs & Burgers since at least 2007. The building has been painted white but the plastic diamond signs remain. [map]

East Lansing, MI
This former Tastee-Freez has operated as Tasty Treat since 2011. Tasty Twist operated here from 1960-2011. The building and diamond-shaped signs show this was originally a Tastee-Freez. The angled roof and walk-up window seem to indicate that this was an earlier Tastee-Freez that was updated with the plastic signs later on. The building has been vacant since at least 2015. This former Tastee-Freez opened in 1967 and this sign was probably from then. The stand had been vacant since at least 2006. In 2010, the building was remodeled and reopened. By 2012, the stand was closed and the sign was gone. As far as I know, this was the only sign of its kind still on display. This location had reopened by 2014. By 2017, the building was housing Bruno's Cheesesteaks.

The former Tastee-Freez in Goldsboro is an example of the company's sawtooth roof style building. This location is now known as the Sof-T-Shop. [map]

There is another one of these buildings in Goldsboro which now houses the Tasty Shoppe. [map]

This former Tastee-Freez in Midlothian appeared to be closed when this photo was taken in 2009. The building was still vacant in 2016. The front of the building, where the walk-up window was, has been filled in. By 2017, the building was in use as a used car lot office. [map]

This former Tastee-Freez opened in 1963. It had been Sam's Tastee Treat since the mid-1990s. In 2019, the building began housing Tastee Foodz. It housed Brother's Frozen and Sweets until around 2022. The building is vacant now. For more, see this website. [map]

This former Tastee-Freez was built in 1963. It housed a check cashing business since at least 2008. In 2019, the building began housing a Snarfburger. [map]

This former Tastee-Freez still retained some of its plastic signage when these photos were taken in 2007. By 2013, the building was housing Jaron's. By 2022, the building was housing Fiesta Jalisco. The diamond-shaped signs are still there but they are painted white. The Tastee pole sign panel was replaced. [map]
