former Cities Service station Muskogee, OK 2011: |
|
2019: | |
This former Cities Service station must have been built around 1930. The twin glass structures were used for displaying products. Around 2015, the building was repainted in the original color scheme of black and white. The roof was painted black. The tiles were originally painted a checkerboard black and white pattern. This building is now vacant. I believe the only other surviving example of these buildings is in Correctionville, IA. This vintage photo shows a different design in Toronto, ON. [map] |
Y Service Station and Cafe Clinton, OK |
The Y Service Station and Cafe was built in 1937. It is now used as a used car dealership. The name came from its location at a Y-shaped intersection. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. For more, see this website. [map] |

This former station was now known as Jack's Place and featured a collection of gas station signs, pumps, etc. These photos are from 2011. The building was still there by 2016 but everything else except the Indian statue was gone. [map] |
