Mile Hi Church Lakewood, CO |
The Mile Hi Church was built from 1970-1973. The dome was created by pouring concrete over a dirt mound. This construction technique explains the lunar landscape-like interior ceiling texture. The building appeared as a McDonald's in the Woody Allen 1973 film, "Sleeper". In 2008, a monolithic dome (bottom photo above) was added to the property to serve as the new sanctuary.
