The "Sparkle" lettering on the middle portion, as well as the starbursts, appear to be modern. The sign's neon was protected behind clear plastic panels. This photo is from 2009. The sign had been removed and sold to a collector by 2016.

The theatre was destroyed by a fire in 2007. This original bulb sign must have been in storage somewhere. By 2013, it was installed in Majestic Park which was built at the former site. The panels are covered with plexiglass for protection. For more, see this website. [map]

It was removed in 2012 and displayed inside. At the same time, the Karmelkorn-News sign was also taken down and is in a private collection. That sign originally came from a different business in town. The Karmelkorn panel may have been from the 1930s with the "News" panel added later. In 2019, Maurie's Candies moved to Eureka, IL. The original sign was displayed inside and a replica sign was displayed on the building outside. The store closed and the original Maurie's sign is now displayed inside Maddie Mae's gift shop in Pekin. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2.
