The State Theatre opened in 1938 and closed in 1992. The theatre later operated as the State Room which featured special events. In 2020, it reopened as the State Theatre as an event space with live performances and movies. The facade was repainted and the sign restored then. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map] |
Washington Theatre Quincy, IL |

The Washington Theatre opened in 1924 as the Washington Square Theatre. It closed in 1982 and was donated to the City of Quincy. It was sold and used for storage until 2000 when the City once again took ownership. The theatre is being restored as a performing arts venue. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map] |

The Hub Theatre opened in 1931. In the 1980s, it was split into three screens. The theatre closed in 2011. From 2017-2019, the building was adapted for the Kennay Farms Distilling brewery. During that time, the marquee was removed and replaced. For more, see this website. [map] |
Fort Armstrong Theatre Rock Island, IL |

The Fort Armstrong Theatre opened as the Fort Theatre in 1921, initially with vaudeville acts and silent films. It closed in 1971 and housed an adult movie theatre for a couple of years. In the late 1970s, it was converted into the Circa 21 Dinner Playhouse. For more, see this website. [map] |
