Chapel of the Holy Spirit
New Orleans, LA
The Chapel of the Holy Spirit was designed by Claude E. Hooton and built in 1955. As part of renovations after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the ceiling and beams were painted white. Originally, they were unpainted wood. For more, see this website. [map]

United Methodist Center
New Orleans, LA
The United Methodist Center was built in 1965. I don't know if that was the original occupant. The building now houses NOLA Wesley which is Tulane and Loyola's United Methodist campus ministry. It is used as their Labyrinth Cafe and Gathering Place. [map]

Bethany United Methodist Church
New Orleans, LA
The Bethany United Methodist Church appears to be from the 1960s. After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, only the church's exterior walls remained. It was rebuilt and reopened in 2006. The building at the right is the church's "social hall". [map]

Central Baptist Church
Springhill, LA
The Calvary Chapel originally housed the First Evangelical Lutheran Church and later the First Lutheran Church. I believe it was built in the early 1950s. [map]

The Central Baptist Church features a mid-century modern addition with stained glass in front of a much older, more traditional looking building. [map]
