The Lattof YMCA opened in 1961 as the Northwest Suburban YMCA. This pool building features expansive walls of clear and decorative glass block. For more, see this website. [map] |
Municipal Building East Alton, IL |

The Municipal Building was designed by Keeney & Stolze and built from 1960-1961. The tile mosaics are on the back of the building and are also used for the floor inside. [map] |
Vital Services Building East Alton, IL |
The Vital Services Building is next door to the Municipal Building described above. The building was designed by Keeney & Stolze and built in 1968. It houses the police and fire departments as well as the East Alton Museum. [map] |

former Bleeker's Bowl Evergreen Park, IL |
Bleeker's Bowl started out as a liquor store and bar in the late 1940s. The bowling lanes were added in the 1950s. Bleeker's Bowl closed in 2013. The building was remodeled for a Binny's Beverage Depot. The zigzag roofline was preserved. These signs are gone. The zig-zag roofline remains. [map] |
former Famous-Barr Fairview Heights, IL |
This Famous-Barr department store was built in 1973 and now houses a Macy's. The dome was destroyed during a tornado in 2006 and rebuilt. There are a couple of other similar Famous-Barr buildings in Missouri. For more, see this website. [map] |
