California Orbit Gas Stations

I believe there were about a dozen Orbit gas stations built in the Sacramento area like the ones shown below. The 1963 design was created by Ed Ward. The buildings feature a four-pointed concrete roof. The only other Orbit station still existing with a similar look that I know of is the one in Incline Village, NV. This former Orbit station housed Tom's Auto Wholesale in the 1990s. When the 2008 photos above were taken, Legacy Rides, a used car dealership, was the occupant. By 2009, the building was vacant. It has housed at least two other used car dealerships since then. Around 2017, the building was painted blue. For more, see this website. [map]
