This former Phillips 66 station in Lindsay housed M&J Auto Repair when this photo was taken in 2013. By 2016, the building was still there but the canopy had been removed. By 2019, only the back wall of the building remained.

There are still hundreds of these single canopy Phillips 66 stations around the country. Most have been repurposed for other businesses but some still function as gas stations. Only a few of these "batwing" canopy stations are still used by Phillips 66.

This former Phillips 66 station featured two canopies. I don't know how many were built, but there are only a few of these double canopy Phillips 66 buildings left. This building had been vacant since at least 2007. These photos are from 2013. The building was demolished by 2022.

Sacramento, CA
This former double canopy Phillips 66 station now houses A-1 Auto Repair. I've read that this station and the other one in Sacramento shown below were Orbit stations originally or later on. However, this design is definitely from Phillips 66. These stations might have been Orbits later on. Or, although I can't find any vintage photos or information to confirm it, a deal might have been worked out between the two companies and these stations could possibly have opened as Orbits. For example, in Colorado, stations with this design were branded with the Sinclair name from the beginning. [map]

This former Phillips 66 station is another example of the double canopy design. This was a Tuneup Masters for many years before becoming Suzie Burger in 2008. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]
